Seattle Open Mic Nights – Why Paragon’s is the Best

September 20, 2014

Ours is the town for starving artists, stressed-out writers, and struggling musicians. But just because it’s hard to get noticed, published, or signed to a label, it isn’t impossible. And for songwriters and musicians in particular, Seattle open mic nights are fantastic opportunities to share your talents and get some stage time.

At open mic nights around the city, musicians of all skill levels can play and perform their stuff for a ready-made group of potential fans. Musicians can test out some material that maybe isn’t quite there yet, to see how it is received and get feedback from peers and the audience. An additional benefit is in networking, since musicians and songwriters can mingle with others, and – with the right attitude – receive respectful critique or maybe discover partnership opportunities.

Paragon’s Seattle open mic nights take place weekly on Tuesdays, and they are hosted by the awesome Levi Said. Open Mic Night at Paragon is known as ‘You Play Tuesday’, starts at 9 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.-ish.

Although we are – of course – biased, we are pretty sure that Paragon’s is the best of Seattle open mic nights. The most important reason is because musicians from all over the city are always giving their stuff a try from our stage. Whether you are a musician yourself, or just a fan of new and exciting things in the local music scene, you’ll be right at home at Paragon on a Tuesday night. Another reason why open mic nights at Paragon are pretty great is because we serve food until 10 p.m., and great drinks until the bar closes at 2 a.m. Whether you’re filling up with a late dinner, or need a cold one after getting off the stage, we’ll take care of you.

So, the next time you’re looking for a great spot to showcase your stuff, or you want to enjoy an evening of new music, come join us!
