Josh Lopes, performs Friday night at Paragon Seattle.
Josh Lopes often times will host Test Drive Tuesdays. It is Paragon’s version on an Open Mic night. A comfortable atmosphere where musicians gather, mix, mingle, and test drive new material. Sign up is around 9ish. Here’s the deal y’all. We live in a large, super fun, major American city where you can’t fall down without bumping your head on a talented musician. That’s the good news for us that enjoy checking-out, up and coming artists performing live. The newer artists may just be seeking stage time and to make some contacts. The more seasoned artists may be test driving new material on a smaller stage before launching it at a larger venue. Either way, Test Drive Tuesdays is one our favorite live music nights of the week. By the way, Paragon offers very live music , five nights per week. It’s great to see fresh, young artists honing their craft, as well as, the pros trying out new stuff. The host musicians (Josh, Alex, Daylen, and Levi), are happy to back-up visiting musicians, or hand over the stage. It’s an easy, casual atmosphere where it’s about setting people up for success. All are welcome. There’s not a lot of rules and regulations; but here are three Facebook type sayings to think about: Attention: Only positive attitudes allowed in this area. Hurt me with the truth, but never comfort me with a lie. I’ve learned so much from my mistakes, that I’m thinking of making a few more. Paragon is not just a small music venue. It’s a neighborhood restaurant and bar that has been serving the Queen Anne community and greater Seattle for twenty two years. Paragon is open for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and live music. Come for dinner and stay for the show.
